Fakutas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Diponegoro mempunyai komitmen tinggi dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Salah satunya adalah dengan membangun Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) Sederhaha akan tetapi efektik untuk menurunkan bahan pulutan yang berbahaya. Output dari pembuatan IPAL ini adalah untuk mendukung capaian pemeringkatan UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.

IPAL dirancang dengan dua kompatemen. Kompartemen pertama merupakan unit pengolahan secara biologis yang dikonstruksi dengan batu pada layer bawah dan pasir pada layer atas. Kompartemen kedua merupakan tempat penampungan hasil olahan dari kompatemen pertama, sekaligus merupakan proses pematangan sebelum air limbah hasil olahan (effluent) dibuang ke sumur resapan. Pada Kompatemen ke-2 digunakan larutan kaput tohor untuk netralisasi pH.
